We are all so busy all the time. I know, I know 'state the obvious much?' but its an observation I recently made after getting off a seven day work week and ended up exhausted and with a nasty cold. I decided that I have to stop letting myself get so tired! I need to make more time for myself. Its not an easy thing to do! There's always more dishes to do, more clothes to wash, weeding to attack, but we all have to make a concious effort to turn the phone off and spend some quality time with peace and quiet here's how I do it...
There's nothing more relaxing than a steaming hot bath, I sprinkle some epsom salts and rose essence oil in there to sooth muscles and envelop my senses with a luxurious smell.
You can tell I'm all about nice smells! But a nice smelling candle can make all the difference for me, and the ambient light is just automatically relaxing for me. I buy a hand made soy melt that smells like Champagne and Strawberries it is my favourite smell in the World and goes really well with the rose scent.
Okay, so technically I listen to audiobooks instead of reading it but I listen to it in my happy place - my Library. Bryce and I live in a two bedroom apartment and we made our second bedroom into a sort of retreat. It has my book collection, a comfy couch, lush blankets and heaps of art. Its my favourite place in the World and when I feel overwhelmed even just sitting in there makes me feel better. So combining a quiet, calm spot in your house with a good read and you are set!
Eat something that makes you happy it doesn't matter if its unhealthy, 'treat yo self' For me this is cheese toasted sandwiches with ketchup and chocolate milk. I know it sounds gross but I love it!
This one is easy for me (I love sleeping) but may not be an easy task for all to help with this you could try downloading some aroma therapy music, with its calm melodies and nature sounds you'll be drifting off in no time!
