The day we adopted her was so emotional, we went to the Dakabin RSPCA just with the intention of doing some research, we already tried a few different places but we didn't really connect with any of the other kitties. We walked int he door and the first thing we see is a sign asking for animal food donations as they were running low. We looked at each other wide-eyed and approached the reception, as Bryce told the lady we were looking to adopt, a little grey furball in a cage meowed at me.
I bent down to pet her and she immediately started purring like a machine! I looked up at Bryce and said 'this one' he looked doubtful. For two reasons: she was the first cat we had seen that day and we wanted a boy cat.
We decided to check all the other cats out just to be sure, there were seriously so many animals there I couldn't stop crying! All these little creatures that just want to love you and be loved. There were a few kittens that we liked but we kept coming back to the little purr machine out the front.
When we paid for her we were pleasantly surprised, $138 vaccinated, desexed, flea treated and microchipped!
This is why we say to everyone: 'Make sure you check your local RSPCA before going to a breeder' There are so many animals that need homes and you don't have to pay a breeder heaps of money. Instead you are paying for RSPCA look after more homeless animals.
