This style of dress is called a 'swing shift' which basically means that the material falls from the bust hiding a multitude of sins. For my body type I love 'swing' everything! swing dresses, swing tops, they are both comfortable and flattering for anyone with a tummy they would like to hide.
If it was a colder day I would have styled this dress with opaque tights and ankle boots for a more winter friendly look, but on this day the sun was out, it was warm as heck and I was in the mood to let my legs out (I had actually shaved my legs for the first time since the start of Winter - don't lie you do this too! Its an extra layer against the cold!).
The dress can be found at Crossroads for $49.95 and is a dress worth investing in, you can accessorise it in so many different ways to create lots of different looks. I kept my accessories simple with this super cute orange pleather cross over bag I found at Katies for a steal! (it is an older bag though, you won't be able to find the same one now). I found a similar bag at Colette for $19.95. Again, my shoes are an older style but I found some really cute orange sandals at Famous Footwear for just $39.99 that would also look really cute with this outfit.
