I am always on the look out for artists, my most recent discovery is Megan Hess, granted she has been around for quite some time but her collaborations have been quite impressive as of late. She has worked with well known brands such as: Chanel, Dior, Catier, Mont Blanc and Tiffany & Co.
She works predominantly with water colours, graphic design and illustration to create fashion-forward, feminine pieces that are stylistic with dashes of vibrant colours and iconic imagery like the yellow taxi and the Eiffel Tower. Some of her pieces are so intense with the amount of intricate detailing, others stark in comparison in the simplicity. The one key theme in each piece is the use of line and form as a feature, whether its the fluid line of the female form or the lines on a building the attention to detail is amazing and with a background in graphic design this makes sense as graphic design relies heavily on the power of line and white space. Some of my favourite pieces by Hess are:
All of her art is based around one of Hess' great loves; fashion which I think is what makes it so appealing to me as a self confessed fashion-o-holic!
